    3. I want to thank all the folks who have sent me such positive feedback on these letters. This man certainly was NOT a close relative of mine--his mother and my ggggrandmother were sisters, as near as I can tell. I'm sorry I can not reply to everyone individually as there were MANY who wrote to me. Time just will not permit. Thanks again. Ruth PS: If anyone gets an inkling that they may know of any descendants of Luther's siblings I would LOVE to hear of them. -- Ruth Barton mrgjb@sover.net Dummerston, VT

    3. Hi Ruth, If Luther Wheeler's mother and your GGGgrandmother were sisters, your relationship to Luther is-- First cousin, 4 times removed. Thank you again for your generous transcriptions, Diana Chapman Owen Ruth Barton wrote: >I want to thank all the folks who have sent me such positive feedback on >these letters. 3. Dear Ruth, I too have followed your postings and have been captivated by his articulate descriptions of his surroundings and events. Our family had ancestors on both sides of this sad war. Thanks so much for sharing your transcriptions with us all. I have forwarded the entire collection to our 3 sons out of state. Have you posted your ggggrandmother's maiden name and some of her history? Many of us with connections through Saratoga County have Wheeler and other CT ancestors. I'd be interested in her background, but I'm not likely related to Luther or his immediate family.
