It shows Alexander emigrated in 1851 and Janet in 1846. The 1901 Canadian Census showed the McMurray family emigrated in 1853, but I found them on an 1852 passenger list, so I don't rely on what census record say 100%. Unfortunately, Alexander was not on the 1852 passenger list, and I can't find him on Ancestry or The Ships List or the Transcribers Guild. So maybe he did come in 1851??? Anyway, I assumed that since the firstborn was from Canada, they were probably married there too. I'll forward this on to the Saratoga County NY rootsweb list...maybe they were married in NY.
