NEWS OF BALLSTON SPA (Special to The Saratogian) Sept 6, 1912 Ballston Spa, Sept 6 Mrs. Elwood C Smith and daughters Emily and Dorothy West, returned this morning to their home at Newburgh after visiting Miss Sherman of Bath street. Harold and Colin Finley have returned from a visit in New York city. Mrs E.K. Horton who was operated upon at the Samaritan hospital, Troy, is reported as progressing very favorably. Omar Goodridge of North Adams, Mass., is visiting his sister, Mrs. D. N. Hammond of Beach street. William Guiltinan of Plattsburgh was a visitor in town today. Attorney B.D. Esmond had business at Saratoga Springs. Mr. and Mrs. B.J. Hill of New York are moving into the McDonough flat on Church avenue. About thirty of the members of the Hall's Corners Sunday school and friends enjoyed a picnic at Fancher J. Riley's grove, Saratoga Lake, yesterday. Mrs. Lydia Rogers, widow of the late John Brown, formerly of Saratoga avenue, died Tuesday, September 3, at her home in Schenectady, aged sixty-eight years. Funeral services were held this afternoon. Poultry fanciers from this viallage and vicinity, are preparing for the State fair. William H. Manning, vice president of the county fair, has made a large shipment of several varieties. D.V.G. Curtis sends his choice lot of Columbian Wyandottes and Fred Armer his prize winning Huff ? Rocks. Mr. Manning and Mr. Curtis had a car load between them and shipped by freight while Mr. Armer will send his by express. Mrs. Thomas Brown and daughter, Miss Mabel, Brown, left this morning for St. Catherines, Canada, after a pleasant visit with their daughter and sister, Mrs. Irwin Esmond of Chapman street.
