>I recently discovered that I have Quaker ancestors. I >would like to know how do I find the records for the >Saratoga Monthly Meeting, Saratoga, NY. This information >was received from a copy of the IGI record for this >particular ancestor. > >Any help would be greatly appreciated. > >Thank you, Tammy Tammy: This is probably of little help, as it does not identify if records are available. >From Field Horne, "Genealogical Guide to Saratoga COunty, NY," SARATOGA: Friends (Hicksite), Quaker Springs, 1783: Saratoga Monthly Meeting org. at Easton by 1776, meetings in Saratoga town under its jurisdiction 1783, separate M.M. using original name 1794; became Hicksite 1828. Friends (Orthodox), Quaker Springs, 1828: laid down 1855, members dismissed to Moreau. My problem, is that he makes no reference as to whether there are records extant. After some churches, it will say "records since 17xx" or give the citation of a publication. After other churches -- nothing. You might ask the Saratoga COunty Historical Society, or search the website for the New York State Archives. hope this is of some help. john o John F.
