    3. There may have been an 1814 - actually 1815 - census of Saratoga Co. but I don't think it survives. At least the New York State Library at Albany doesn't have it. The first one listed is for 1855. A small number of counties go back to 1825. Unfortunately the southern counties many of us are most interested in don't go back that far, although (a bit of sour grapes here) none of the pre-1850 censuses in New York listed entire families anyway. The only 1815 census in New York that I see is a partial one for St. Lawrence Co.
