The Thorn Connell (b. 1805) family left New York and went to Union City Branch Co, MI in 1837. (This is per his obit.) On the 1840 Census I find him residing in Sherwood Twp, Branch Co, MI with his brother-in-law Jonathan Mosher as the next entry. Jonathan Mosher only stayed there a short time and went on to settle down in IL. Thorn spent his whole life "Going West." In 1850 he was in Calhoun Co, MI. In 1854 he moved to Floyd Co, IA. In 1865 he went to Kossuth Co, IA. He was in Neb for a time and then in 1873 he went to the Willamette Valley, OR turned around and settled down in Eastern Oregon where he died in 1884.
