Hello, Each August, Heritage Hunters skips their indoor meeting and takes a day of fun and history together. On Saturday, 19 Aug 2000, we are planning another great day to get together and investigate more history of the area. Last year we went to Clifton Park and visited a lock and several said they would like to go through a lock on a boat. I need to hear from anyone who thinks they would like to go on the Historic Boat Tour as I need to make definite reservations by the end of the month of May. Please send me a message, ASAP, so we can be sure that we will have the necessary minimum of 45 people. On Sat, 19 Aug we will take off at 10am on a new boat, the "Caldwell", from Schuylerville and go down the Hudson River, through a lock, to the area of the Saratoga Battlefield. The boat captain will give a historic tour of the area as we ride along. We turn around near the Battlefield and return to Schuylerville by 12:30pm. The trip is about 2 1/2 hours. The cost of the trip is $16 if we have 45 people so we need to hear from you ASAP to be sure and have it booked. Back in Schuylerville, at their marina, is a picnic area. At 12:30pm we will have our picnic and get to know one another better. There are several grills there or we can just bring something to eat. Those wishing to may bring something to share, but each should plan on bringing their own food. >From the picnic, we will have a list (also will be in the next newsletter) of activities going on in the immediate area that we can attend to enjoy and see more of this historic area.
