Talk about weird.............. If you had driven here to see all of the snow (Albany got 13.5" and 30,000 without electric yesterday -according to the headlines in all of the newspapers this morning) you would be disappointed........... It is almost gone!!!! No I have not been drinking. It warmed up today, melted off and there is only snow where it was shoveled to or in the shadow areas of buildings. The sun was very warm and a beautiful day today. NUTS, huh? But there is considerable damage from trees that came down and wires are still down in places. I have been sitting by an open window doing my taxes on the computer and keep hearing bark on trees cracking. Then you hear them fall. The snow is no longer on them but they were bent so far over as they are out of dormancy and the damage is continuing just by their leaning. The power company was just across the street. A tree came down on top of a brand new car. That branch took down another branch which hung pulled the wires out of the side of the house and they are now reattaching them. The power companies will be busy for some time to come as they are taking care of the most important first. Telephone and cable wires are pulled to the side of the road and waiting for that crew. I cannot remember this much damage from the Hurricane that hit last Fall. I learned a GOOD lesson last Fall. Was visiting with friends at the Holiday Inn when the power all over Saratoga went out. He opened the lid of his laptop computer and turned it on. It lit up the room - KEEP your batteries charged. I did the same thing and worked on that computer. What a difference a day makes.
