My interest is Thomas and Rosina Palmer and family who arrived in Saratoga Springs in 1907 from Sidney NY, both born Somerset UK. Thomas was a worker for Clarks (gloves). They arrived with sons Sidney, Augustus (Gus) and daughter Linda. Linda married Louis Hodges, a teamster. Gus was already married to Mabel with children Gwendoline and Howard (Glen Howard). Sidney married Bessie in the US. I have found a grave for Sidney and Bessie in the Greenridge Cemetary at Saratogo Springs, and know that until recently there were still members of Gus's family in Saratoga Springs (Howard and Doris his wife,) although Gus had moved to Syracuse in the 1920's. I am trying to trace all members of my Palmer family in NY State, my own grandfather stayed behind in the UK due to ill health when his parents and brothers and sisters emigrated to the US in the period 1896-1901. They were all involved in the gloving industry and there is a great connection between our area of Somerset and NY state, including Gloversville and Sidney, due to the migration of workers in the gloving and leather trades. ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
