What follows is not complete but what I felt might help those researching Bantas and the allied families who were in Saratoga County. Both joined the church at Hackensack, 21 Aug 1735 "with letters from Peremus". He was elected an Elder of the church in 1757. His farm was at the English Neighborhood. His will dated in 1766 was recorded in 1774 at Trenton in Liber L, folio 151. In it he makes a division of his land among his six sons, having made provision for Jan during his life-time. His widow was living at Perth, Fulton, NY Oct 1848 and applied for a pension. The applicaton of file in the Pension Bureau shows that during the Rev. War. "He was living at aClifton Park, where he enlisted to server 7 months under Capt. Fonda in NY Regiment commanded by Lt. Col. Marinus Willett, which drove the British and Tories out of the Mohawk Vallery and practically terminated the harassing hostilites in Oct 1781, about the date of the capture of Lord Cornwallis in Virginia. Arie went to the Black River country near Watertown and all trace of his family has been lost. In the application for a pension made by the widow of his brother, Hildebrant, it stated that Arie was living in 1839 in Amsterdam, Montgomery, NY.
