At least one family from Saratoga Co. (David A. See and his wife Abby Conklin d/o Isaac V. Conklin and Ann Andrews) went to Shiawassee MI ca. 1860. They joined Abby's father Isaac, as well as other relatives that had already been there since ca. 1845. These other relatives I've traced to Wayne Co. NY - they had never lived in Saratoga Co. as far as I know. Isaac Conklin's brother Nathaniel was an early (pre-1850) settler of Lapeer MI, and sure enough, Isaac's widow went there to live later, as did David and Abby by 1870. If anyone sees a connection to other families in this regard, let me know.
