    1. NYSARATO-L Ancestor Day
    2. Hello everyone, Today seems to be NYSARATO-L Ancestor Day. Stillwater seems to be leading. That is where the Battle of Saratoga took place which was the Turning Point of the Revolutionary War...in historic Saratoga County, NY. We certainly have some great information out there. Keep it coming. Have you visited Saratoga County GenWebPage and checked everything? You know your ancestor could have lived in one township but buried in another township so check the other cemeteries. Maybe the people you can find are waiting to be discovered in the next cemetery and not in the town you thought/know. This is why we need to get volunteers to help us get the Durkee's Epitaghs up there. Durkee, and a couple of others, copied all of the cemeteries he could find in Saratoga County in 1875-1877and wrote it into 5 books. Nicely done with index. We would love to get it up there so all can see it when they wish. Many of these stones are long gone and the only source is his work. If anyone has a copy of History of Saratoga County, please consider looking up some of these people in the index and see if you can make some matches for those who do not have a copy. As you can see, some of our list people are from everywhere and their local library would not have a copy. Do we have any volunteers who have copies of any Saratoga books or resources? What is out there? In the Heritage Hunter newsletter which is about to go into the mail (Feb-Mar) will be the beginning of a series - Daniel Benedict's Diary. He kept this diary and logged in many local events and the dates. This is before any vital records were kept so this may be the only place you will find your ancestor's vital records and other things about some of them. Membership is $15 a year which includes 5 bi-monthly newsletters, a Surname Exchange Index with over 8,000 surname connections (not limited to Saratoga County) and four queries published in our newsletter each year. Keep those ancestors coming. God Bless Ruth Ann [email protected] ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
