Hi folks, After much research, I think I've been able to make a good case for Ephraim Annable (b.c. 1782, of Town of Providence, Saratoga Co., NY) and his wife Charlotte (unknown) as being parents of my ancestor Abner H. Annable (b.c. 1811, lived in Jefferson Co., NY). My question now is who were Ephraim's parents? My best guess is that he was a son of Ephraim Annable, b. 1744 at Plymouth, who married Margaret (unknown), and was living in Saratoga and purchased land from Benjamin Leggett in 1793. I base this theory on naming patterns, but I need evidence to support or refute it (most genealogies I see online don't mention him as having a son Ephraim). Does anyone have further information on these people that might shed light, please? You can read my research on Ephraim & Charlotte at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~legends/annable.html Thanks! Mark A. Wentling
Do you also know who William's father is and grandfather?? I have a WRigtht Brown who had a William...but he married a Rachel Wood or Weed.? He lived for a while in Saratoga and then moved to Cayuga Co....he later moved to WI after his wife died in abt 1868. -----Original Message----- From: Beth Golden <gramssearch4family@gmail.com> To: nysarato@rootsweb.com Sent: Sat, 28 Jul 2007 2:09 am Subject: [NYSARATO] Richard Gibson Brown b. abt. 1800, NY my research indicates that Valentine Brown's parents were William Brown and Judith Palmer. ANNOUNCING EXPANDED DATABASE: DEATHS REPORTED IN TROY, NY CITY DIRECTORIES This message is being sent to: Rensselaer County List Troy Irish Genealogy Society List Albany County List Saratoga County List Schenectady County List Genealogy-NYS List Irish-NY-Troy List NY-Rollcall List If you are researching relatives with a TROY, NY area connection, you will be interested in this expanded on-line, name searchable, data base of over 1400 names of Troy Area residents who died in 1901-1903. Over 700 deaths from the 1903 Troy City Directory were just added to the 1902 records that were already on-line. This information was extracted from Troy City Directories and information covers not only Troy but also data from the Watervliet/Green Island and Cohoes/Waterford sections of the City Directory. Anyone who has ever used City Directories as a genealogy research tool appreciates the wealth of information available in these books. Starting with the 1902 Troy City Directory, this data base was a first step by the Troy Irish Genealogy Society to capture this information and portray it in a name searchable format that could be used by researchers who do not have access to Troy City Directories. It should be noted that these records, like all the TIGS data bases, cover the general population in the area and are NOT restricted to Irish surnames. The information in this data base may include, in addition to the name of the individual: Date of death. Name of surviving spouse. Name of deceased spouse. Occupation of deceased and name of employer. Street address and city of residence of deceased. As time permits, data in subsequent years of the City Directories will be added to the on-line records on the TIGS website. You can view these records by going to the TIGS website located at: Troy Irish Genealogy Society website http://www.rootsweb.com/~nytigs/ and click on TIGS PROJECTS. We invite you to explore the TIGS website where you will find local history articles, resources and genealogy research tips as well as several data bases and a number of interesting Troy Area photographs in the Local History Articles. Also, you can search your surnames in the following additional records automated by TIGS members and other volunteers: Burden Iron Company Steam Mill Payroll Records. (8,236 names) Troy Area Marriage Records. (1,448 names) Troy Area Death Records. (6,031 names) Index-History of the Troy Police Department. (668 names) Bank Officers in Troy Banks From 1801-1891. (299 names) Prominent Citizens of Troy, NY & Rensselaer County. (1,800 names) Rensselaer County Marriage Index. (24,000 names) Alderman/Assistants in Troy Wards During 1816-1891. (1,395 names) Representative Young Irish-Americans of Troy, NY 1889. (400 names) These data bases of over 45,000 names are part of a continuing effort by the Troy Irish Genealogy Group to make available on line, Troy area records, that may be of interest to genealogy researchers, especially those outside the Troy area. Does anyone oiut there have a listing of the children of John Davis born in the 1780's. I am also in need of the guardianships of Saratoga County in the same period. If anyone could be so kind as to check out this for me when you are working at the office where those are kept. We believe possibly Lucinda Davis (Mohawk Native girl b. 1786) may have been a guardian/adoptive parent of Lucinda (Native surname unknown to me). Many descendents of this lady are hoping to trace her parentage and ancestry before we die so that there can be a record of her before she married Charles Andrus/Andrews b. 1782. Both families lived in or near Stillwater and Ballston in 1806 when 3 children of Charles & Lucinda (Cinthia on church records) were Christened in Christ Episcopal Church of Ballston. I really would so much appreciate help as I don't live anywhere near Saratoga County and am a disabled 64 year old who does not drive or travel well at all.

CORRECTION: The wife of Valentine who is mother to Richard is Seviah, not Bethina. Seviah was Richard's first wife. Sorry! -- Searching for these families: BROWN, BRAYTON, MOBLEY, BELL, KEY, MOORE, (NY, OH, IL, IA) and TURNEY,WALTER, LITTLE (IR, NY, PA, WV, MD) and associated lines
Seeking info on Richard Gibson BROWN born about 1800 in NY although some census of children claim OH. Richard did live in OH before moving on to IA and IL. He married Rebecca Moore (b. 22 Jun 1821 in Newark, Licking Co., OH) on 12 Jan 1844 in Rock Island, IL. Their children were: Loammi Byron, Benjamin Franklin, Susan and Richard Gibson. I've not been able to find his birth or death, but have lots on his descendants to share. There is a possibility that he is the son of Valentine and Bethina Brown of Clifton Springs and Half Moon. Thanks! -- Searching for these families: BROWN, BRAYTON, MOBLEY, BELL, KEY, MOORE, (NY, OH, IL, IA) and TURNEY,WALTER, LITTLE (IR, NY, PA, WV, MD) and associated lines
