Hi Folks, Can anyone tell me what city is the County Seat, and by any chance does anyone know the address to write for such things as birth, marriage and death records? I live in California but all my ancestors were in New York at one time or another.... Need a dozen or so records from Saratoga County. Also does anyone on the list live in Charlton or Galway? Hi, I'm new to this list and looking for the parents of Timothy CHAPMAN. Timothy was born Sept. 26, 1789 in Charlton, Saratoga County, NY. He married Sarah HILLER on Feb. 6, 1817 in Saratoga County, Ballston Center, NY. Timothy died Aug. 29, 1838 in Charlton, Saratoga County, NY Timothy bought property from Israel and Sarah CHAPMAN on June 11, 1817. Benjamin CHAPMAN is mentioned in the deed as having owned property next to Timothy's. Timothy and Sarah had a son, Henry Platt CHAPMAN born Feb 28, 1819 in Charlton. After Timothy's death, Sarah and her son Henry, migrated to Elkhart Ind. The 1810 census shows Israel and Benjamin CHAPMAN resided in Charlton, Saratoga County, NY. Believe Israel and Benjamin are related to Timothy and could be Timothy's father or brother. Need information as to the relationship of Israel and Benjamin CHAPMAN to Timothy.
