    2. Hi Fellow Searchers: I am looking for any information about William OSBORN/E born in England (date and place unknown) died in New York State (date and place unknown). He came to America with the British 18th Regiment of Foot stationed at Fort Pitt (Pittsburgh) in 1768 was transfered to the 5th Regiment of Foot and discharged on May 5, 1778 at Staten Island, NY. Moved to Boston and or Colrain, MA and there followed his trade of shoemaker. He married Margarett (Smith) DUNN on Apr 10, 1782 at Sudbury, MA and adopted her two year old son Malcolm DUNN. In Corain, MA four children were born, Thomas Aug. 28,1784; Polly 1785-1789; John May 15, 1790; and James abt. 1793. His wife Margarett died Apr. 1, 1801 and was burried at Covert Baptist Church Cemetery in Colrain. William moved his young family to western New York state bought a farm, died and is burried near the head of Seneca Lake Does anyone connection with or have information about this family. The following information was found at the LDS Family History Center on microfilm 0532618, 1874-1881 At Yates Cemetery on Bishop Farm located East of Hudson River, South of Mechanicville. Cemetery fenced and in good condition. The farm overlooks the Hudson River and in 1958 was in good condition. (Town of Schaghticoke) PEEK (sic) Polly wife of David DeVoe died 20 June 1860 age 59 yr 9 mo 26 day. Emma wife of John H. Roberts and dau of Abram and Elizabeth Peek died 21 Dec 1856 23 yr 3 mo and 9 days Page 4 William Infant son of Abram and Elizabeth A. Peek died Dec. 15, 1842 Wrispa (???) wife of Wm Peek died Sept 15 1848 in the 69 year of her age. In Memory of William Peek died Feb. 25 1831 in the 56 yr of his age. Sarah M. dau of Abram and Elizabeth Peek died Aug 22, 1856 at 20 yr 10 mo Charles H. son of Abram and Elizabeth Peek died March 2, 1851 age 20 yr. Child Peek , the stone cannot be read John, son of Abram and Elizabeth Ann Peek died November 15, 1829 1 yr 27 days Insant son of Abram and Elizabeth Peek died March 26, 1831 DEVOE Anthony 6 Carmon 6 David 7 Harriet 6 Polly 7 Birth in Petersburg Mary Effie Clark Feb 8, 1847 to Charles and Mary Ann Clark I am sorry at this time I don't have the microfilm at home so can't answer any questions.     3. There may have been an 1814 - actually 1815 - census of Saratoga Co. but I don't think it survives. At least the New York State Library at Albany doesn't have it. The first one listed is for 1855. A small number of counties go back to 1825. Unfortunately the southern counties many of us are most interested in don't go back that far, although (a bit of sour grapes here) none of the pre-1850 censuses in New York listed entire families anyway. The only 1815 census in New York that I see is a partial one for St. Lawrence Co.
