Please give us a little more on the surname-only people. There are many people with some of the surnames that appeared and that will help those of us with records to pull out the information. Most of those with just surnames do have some matches and some of those (like Baker) there are many families in Saratoga. What Banta family members do you have? Dunning - Popular name here. Dunning Street Cemetery on Dunning Street in Town of Malta is still there and loads of Dunnings and allied families. Durkee copied that cemtery in 1877 or so. There are loads of Bakers. That is almost worse than searching Smith and Jones. Please share some more on those surnames (first names, dates, places). I have been checking what I have here that was submitted to Heritage Hunters. John VAN NESS, reportedly born 8 October 1765 in Washington County. I have been unable to confirm this date and place or his ancestry. He died on 24 January 1832 in Bluff Point, Yates County, and is buried in the family cemetery there. He married Martha WHITNEY, place and date unknown. She was born 19 October 1766, probably in Ridgefield, Fairfield County CT, daughter of Jeremiah and Eva (YOUNGS) WHITNEY. The WHITNEY ancestry published in 1878 carries the line back to the immigrant Henry WHITNEY. They lived in Saratoga County (including Milton, Galway, and Providence) from about 1783 until 1824 when they moved to Bluff Point, Yates County. Their first born, Elizabeth, was born on 3 November 1784. They had 16 children, all born in Saratoga County. Hello Saratoga people, If I have been communicating with you on Saratoga information in the past couple of weeks, please recontact me. Had power failure on Saturday. All my messages are in the hard drive but could not bring them back up into the Juno program. Have removed everything onto disks for safe keeping but must now "sift" through everything as all incoming messages and what was in specific folders is all together on disks. Going to take some time to find and print and get into manila folders. I was in the process of getting them together in specific folders and was going to take them off on disks - all organized nice and neat. BUT someone ran into a telephone pole in Saratoga County and one blink and the lights went out while I was in Juno Folders. Thank God the address book is still there. We are getting SNOW in Saratoga and they are saying 6-12" today. Hope the power lines hold up so I have electricity to operate this computer. Will switch to laptop if necessary on battery to keep working but more convenient on the bigger computer.
