Dear list, I am interested in a Scottish immigrant, Charles Dallas, who married Elizabeth Surroc ca. 1835. In the 1830 census, his father, Robert Dallas, was listed at Halfmoon, Saratoga County, so I assume that the marriage occurred there, probably in a Presbyterian church. Is there any hope of finding a record of this marriage? Any help will be greatly appreciated by Rick Sherman Kensington, CA
Tee I believe that you are looking for the Allen Cemetery, .25 miles south of Greene Rd. or Kings Station, town of Greenfield. Check the Topo map of area noting a cemetery. http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=43.15853&lon=-73.86512&size=l&symshow =n&u=4&datum=nad27&layer=DRG Check Cemetery records from Saratoga NYGenWeb site. http://www.rootsweb.com/~nysarato/Bixby_Greenfield.html#alle
I checked with Delorme, the Street Atlas program my husband uses. Greene Road ends at 9N between the St. Lawerence and Hudson Railroad Tracks and Old Route 9 North. It also says Kings is just south of Greene Road. I'm not sure how much help this is. I'd also check with the Saratoga County Historian. They might have the exact information you are looking for. They have several volunteers there. It might take awhile, but they found some wonderful information for me recently. ~Annette Today's Topics: 1. cemetery on rt 9 (Tee) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Fri, 24 Nov 2006 17:23:01 -0500 From: "Tee" <tbone77@localnet.com> Subject: [NYSARATO] cemetery on rt 9 To: <nysarato@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <005201c71017$1ac9bf30$0c1e9942@DB2D6W81> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" I am trying to find out any information on the cemetery that is on rt 9 between the Atwell house and Greene rd . Thanks much for the link. This should be a great tool! I hope it can eventually be expanded to include the adjacent townships since my families of interest all lived in Greenfield, Corinth, or Day. Maybe the town historians can get something similar up. Researching the John Greenfield family 1770-1846. Working on finding surnames for sisters and wives of John, Ester and Polly. Does anyone know where they came from? they were supposed to be Welch. Do you know of Welch settlements in the area? Or families from Edinburg that were Welch? Also seeking information about Samuel C Greenfield ( middle child of Polly) wife, Julia Minerva Lawrence of Day. She signed her name and the family also said her name was Draper, however on the church records it is called Lawrence, plus there are no Draper families in Day, but lots of Lawrence families in census. Does anyone know of which one she came from? thank you, marge dellwo--maternal gr gr grandmother and gr gr gr grandparents from Edinburg

Hi: There sure is a Wilton in Saratoga County. Moved from there in 1980 and have been back a few times and it's still there. It's small town and I was thinking that around that era of time a lot of people got married in homes. There was a church there but a while back the church burn down. I think if any records were saved they are kept at the town hall but I'm not a 100% on that. What is the surnames your looking for?
