I have been a member of both the RCHS and RCGS for a number of years and have been researching CONKLIN, STARR, YOUMANS families. The older I get the more interested I am in seeing and/or owning a Ramapo Basket. In my research I have found that my Conklin ancestors were basket and wooden ladle makers. I know that Mr. Margolis used to sell them at his store. I have inquired a few people whether they knew how I could find one, but none that I asked knew. Would there be a way to put this in a "query" in your next Newsletter? I would love to purchase an old Ramapo basket (especially if it was made by a Conklin). Perhaps you can give me a suggestion.
