Some more interesting facts on the Osborns. John Osborn who died in 1770 had his son James Osborn and Gilbert Cuyper as executors of his will. There has to be a connection between the Cuyper's and Osborns. James Osborn (sometimes spelled as Janes Hasban) married Elisabeth Cuyper b 1691. She was the daughter of Cornelius Cuyper & Aeltje Bogaert). James and Elizabeth (Cuyper) Osborn had a son Cornelius Osborn. Cornelius Osborn ( a physician) had sons Thomas, James, & Peter , but all brothers were supposed bachelors, and were also physicians. They lived in Rumbolt, NY, but a Cornelius Osborn owned land in Rockland Co. The James Osborn physician, who lived in Stony Point, had a son Richard(a physician). There has to be some connection with all these Osborns. I also know that William, John, James & Nathaniel Osborn had plots early when it was still called the Kakiat Patent. My ancestor James Osborn b 1774 wrote in his diary that he was born in the Kakiat 11 miles from the Hudson River. Those of you who live there might be able to pinpoint this location slightly better than I might for I live in Ohio and have never been to that area of NY. I understand there was a park in the area that was called the Osborn trail at one time. James (1) children were: (not necessarily in birth order for the 5 boys were born consecutively and some of the girls were born before and after the boys according to some researchers.)
