    3. I also can't figure out the Osborn family.  I only have two on my website, http://phillipsknapp.tribalpages.com/   Barbara L. de Mare, Esq. I know there was a William Osborn in the area also, but haven't found his children listed.  A Cornelius Osborn also owned property in this area.  I would appreciate any help on the Osborn early settlers.  I know many came from Long Island to the area.  I wonder about James Osborn (1) in that he named his first son James(2) thus it might follow that James (1) father might have been James, but the only James I can find is t! he physician in Haverstraw.  I also wonder if there is a connection because James(1) was supposedly a physician in the Revolution, but he was not in the military because he was crippled and so he just helped out.  All very speculative based on written biographies. I have James(1) moved to NJ and then to Exeter PA.  A few years later he is also listed as a physician and Dr. Osborn was helping with selling land in Bridgewater, Susquehanna County PA. James(1) son Peter lived in Bridgewater. James (1) children were: (not necessarily in birth order for the 5 boys were born consecutively and some of the girls were born before and after the boys according to some researchers.)  Hannah(Love), James, John, William, Henry, Peter, Betsey(Ross), Polly(Grist). The names of the children was from Commemorative Biographical Record of Northeastern Pennsylvania, J.H. Beers & Co., Chicago, 1900.  p 1275 ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NYROCKLA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
