My relatives say that Joseph Cyr-Miquelon (the second) married a woman named Nancy Dornan. According to the family lore, Nancy was the daughter of a French Lord who eloped with the family's tutor and came to Canada. Nancy and Joseph had a son named Timoreon. He married a woman named Oderin who had come to the west on Father Lacombe's rail car as a novice to teach Indians in Alberta. She left the convent to marry Timoreon and they had 13 children, including my maternal grandfather, Wilfred Miquelon. Wilfred had 3 daughters, so that is where the Miquelon name stopped for us.
