The following data on Peter LENT's children was harvested from the Baptism record from the Dutch Reformed Church at Tappan, New York, which was included as an appendix in the "History of Rockland County, New York" by David Cole D.D. (1884) and reprinted with an all name Index by the Rockland County Historical Society in 1986. Children of Petrus [Peter] LENT (1739-1782) and Maria DE KLERCK, his wife, of Orange County, New York were: Baptism # Name Date of birth Date of baptism (2098) Catharina 3/10/1765 3/31/1765 (2173) Kobus 9/5/1767 9/20/1767 (2266) Adolph 1/18/1771 2/17/1771 (2333) Maria 2/3/1773 2/28/1773 (2449) Adolph 12/18/17_5 1/14/1776 Maria DE KLERCK LENT was widowed in 1782. She was married to Gysbert BOGART by 1783 and settled in Ontario, Canada with her second husband in 1784, after having filed a claim with the British government for the loss of her interest in the LENT property in Orange County, New York. Nelson Burton LENT's data on the children of Peter LENT (1739-1782), Loyalist of Orange County, New York contained in his book on page 98 is completely contradicted by the Baptism records of the Dutch Reformed Church at Tappan, New York. My sincere thanks to the Rockland County Historical Society of the All Name Index that they included in the 1986 reprint edition of Cole's "History of Rockland County, New York.
