My Father's name was Sherman J Fortune. My Grandfather's name was Pleas J Fortune. My daughter has been doing research this last year that shows Thomas Ryan Fortune was a cousin to me. You would be related to me also. It's been exciting following our family tree. On my Mother's side my Great Grandfather was Abraham Lincoln's Personal Aide. I have discovered that since the Fortune's came here in the early 1600's they have helped to Pioneer this country. They have been involved in every conflict pretty much from the beginning. My own Grandfather, who I never met,(he died in 1948), was in the Marine Corps in WWI and was drafted into the service again in WWII. He served in both wars. My Father was in the Navy in WWII.
