For most of her life, she was called Amanda, but the 1850 census lists her as Susan. She married John Lane and raised her family in Haverstraw, NY. The Lanes (or possibly the Roses) lived in Sandyfields at some point before 1850 and that area is close to Southfields. So, I am hoping for a connection.
