    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Rose, Green Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YUB.2ACI/1230.1270 Message Board Post: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/NYROCKLA/2001-04/0987375007 has some nice comments on Doodletown. Photos are published in several books also. Doodletown became park lands so long ago that it is naturalized. Also do an advanced google search and tell it to omit fifers - a goodly number of the Doodletown items will relate to "Birding" in the area. We are interested in the Rose family in Rockland County and our preliminary research is on file at the Rockland Room at the New City Library dating from Jan. 1993. The Roses in northern Rockland were probably mostly descendants of Jacob Rose (approx 1740 to 1803) who had seven sons. Each of them had 5-10 children. The place populated up fast. The eldest also named Jacob (approx 1770 to 1859) and a number of others were named Jacob. Mary Rose born about 1810 (I cannot recall her parentage right now) appears to have been married to George Weiant. they may have lived up that way. Ruben Brown Ruben Brown
