Not sure I quite understand your question. If there is a burial but no stone, the cemetery records should still record the burial. Of course many cemeteries in Rockland COunty are old, and have no extant records. Aside from that problem, the cemetery is only concerned with burying the body. A monument company has to be hired to engrave a headstone. Many people, especially if they were poor, had no headstones erected. Barbara Barbara L. de Mare, Esq.
