I also have a Ver Veelan (Ver Valen,Valin) in my ancestry back to before the Revolutionary War. In Haverstraw I found an ancester Thomas Mackeyb. l805 who is my ancester and who came from Marlboro,through Sugar Loaf,or Warwick ,Orange County and whose death certificate shows father asGeorge. There was one in Milton but the other was a Jurian meaning George so I am stuck and have been for years. Are you in Orange County? I am trying to find 5 men and a father who served in the Rev. War from either Shawangunk or Warwick,Orange County.Three are Albert,William,Peter and possibly the father might be Sylvanus. Arlene Thanks for the info. all the Mackeys in Haverstraw and the Mackey brickyards in Verplanck are all the same family and descend from two brothers.
