An Interesting note: "A piece of parchment containing a list of militia officers of Orange Co. of 1763 was converted into covers for binding a school copy book belonging to Mary Haring who wrote her name on it. In trimming the Sheepskin to suit her purpose she very nearly destroyed the record." My 4thGGrandfather Captain Joseph Allison is on the list as is First Lieut Abraham A. Haring Jr and Jan J. Haring.
