    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Haring, Rabatin Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YUB.2ACI/2053.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Bob, the book "Within These Gates" tells the story of the brickmaking industry in Haverstraw and environs. It doesn't contain genealogical information. On page 7 there is mention of James Wood, an Englishman with brickmaking experience, who leased land from John and Peter deNoyelles, sons of the late assemblyman John deNoyelles who died in 1775, but that's pretty much it. However if I had deNoyelles ancestors I would want to own this book, which is available very reasonably from the Haverstraw Brick Museum. The Allisons were also a brickmaking family, and the book contains a photo of "the Allison family with others in Stony Point ca. 1890."
