Grace--You asked about the Odell family. I don't have information that relates to Beaver Pond but I do have some Rockland information that might be of help. I know that a Rutledge I. Odell, born 1861 in Rockland County, was a prominent citizen and philanthropist of the Tomkins Cove area. In 1880 he was a clerk for the Tomkins Cove Lime Company and by 1900 was the Superintendent. I know this because of some philanthropy he provided to my Grandfather, Wm Henry Ten Eyck in 1909, when he was ill, trying to sell his property, and move to Brooklyn. Have you looked at the 1875 and/or 1892 NY State Census for Stony Point? R I Odell would be in each of those; and you should be able to find his parents that way.
