With such common names and little or no information on them, I have hit a dead end. "Family lore" has it that they were related to Thomas Fortune Ryan and that the two sisters were somehow tricked out of inheritance by a their brother who was an attorney. I have checked out direct links to TFR and can't seem to link them directly to TFR, traced William back to Va. when they lived with relatives after their mother died, but cannot find any other info on him. Have heard two different stories concerning their father--one that he died, the other that he abandoned them. Any info would be appreciated.
