Dear Friends, Does anyone know which church would have served the families of New Hempstead, in 1751?. I am seeking the names of the parents of William N. Conklin, and am hoping that some church may have his bptm. record..I have looked at the wonderful listing of churches in Rockland County, but saw none of New Hempstead. During the Rev. War, Gen'l Anthony Wayne stayed with Wm's mother, before and after the battle of Stoney Point I have not been able to find a written record of this, which might include Mrs. Conklin's full name.My information comes from Wm's application for a Rev. War pension. Does anyone know where I might find Gen'l Wayne's papers that might give us this information?. Congratulations on the great job you are all doing!.
