Donna, Committees of Safety were set up by the Patriot side to provide for controlling the local population and for resisting the British and Loyalist sympathizers. They provide communication with adjoing regions and with the Continental Congress. They were composed of the non-military leaders of the Patriot cause. The Genealogical Society of Rockland County does not sponsor a Revolutionary War WebSite for the County. I don't know of any other such WebSite, but there could be one sponsored by a group interested in the American Revolution, or by a re-enactor's group. Bob Protzmann
