Here is the Press Release, as published in ROOTSWEB REVIEW: NEW YORK. THE ROCKLAND GATHERING, a combination family reunion and covered dish social will be held by the Genealogical Society of Rockland County, New York, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, 26 June 1999 at the Rockland County Historical Society, 20 Zukor Road, New City, New York. Free admission. A covered dish is not required. What is required is an interest in or connection to the family history of the Hudson River Valley and/or Northern New Jersey. We have invited clubs from all counties of the Hudson River Valley plus the northern 10 counties of New Jersey. Bring your notebooks, laptops, card files, and photos-even family scrapbooks. There will be a free help table for beginners or those who have hit a brick wall, contests for best family history related dish, best family scrapbook, and for the most despicable Black Sheep or most colorful character on your family tree. Turn Right (East) on New Hempstead Road, and follow it to its end at Main Street. Turn Left at the light and continue North on Main Street to the first STOP sign.
