Bill, I noticed your post on the NYROCKLA List. I have one line of FORSHAYs that married into my CHAMPENOIS family. This was on the Manor of Philipsburgh, in Westchester County, NY, pre-American Revolution. It is my understanding that the ROCKLAND lines originated with the family in WESTCHESTER Co. This family came from FRANCE, possibly via the Netherlands, during the early Colonial period. I have not done much with this branch of the tree. I believe that there is a chapter on FORSHAY in Mackensie's manuscript, "Families of Philipsburgh Manor". The only copies that I know of are in the Westchester Historical Society Collection, at the Westchester County Archives, and at the New York Public Library. Bob Protzmann
