I am trying to solve a mystery involving the last name of my 3rd great grandmother, Maria ACKER/ECKERSON, married to Abraham Snyder SMITH on 9-4-1819 at the New Hemstead Pres. Church. She was born on 12-6-1795. Her tombstone in the Martinus/Hobencamp Cemetery in New City, says that her last name was ACKER. I've been told that it is really ECKERSON. If there is anyone who can help me solve this mystery, I would appreciate it.
