I have my G. Grandmother, Julia (Starr) Conklin's hand written list of alI her children both living and deceased. On that list there is no child named Spencer Conklin. My mother, Ethel (Stalter) Harvey, has no knowledge of her grandmother having a child by that name. Julia had a brother Spencer Starr, b. abt 1845-46. [1850 US Census, Ramapo, Rockland Co., NY, h/h # 343, family #346.] If Mrs. Marjorie S. Stevenot has not made a mistake on page 217 of her new book, I am interested in her documentation on Spencer listed as the s/o Daniel G. & Julia (Starr) Conklin in that book. Additionally, I would like to know Mrs. Stevenot's source that Julia's name is Juliann. Mother does not remember her Grandmother ever being referred to or called Juliann. I don't rule out the possibility but, I have found nothing in family or other documentation that leads me to think her first name was anything other than Julia. Their dau.
