I'm having difficulty finding the ancestors of my great grandmother, Amanda Rose Lane, of Haverstraw. I believe she descended from one of the Jacob Roses and I believe the family was Dutch. Nancy Tweedie's research (thank you Nancy) lists the male children of James R. Rose (Jacobus Roos) and Elizabeth Cline as James (Jeams) b September 7, 1792 in Clarkstown (married Anna Terneur March 31, 1821); and Jacob b September ll, 1795 in Clarkstown (married Catherine Smith). Does anyone have information on the children of JAMES and ANNA ROSE or JACOBand CATHERINE ROSE? Based on the birth and marriage dates, it's possible that Amanda Rose was born into one of these families. I know it's a longshot, but I am getting desperate. Thanks. Ann Langdon
