I have a torn and tattered copy of my 2x great grandmother Dorcas JOHNSON LAKE's obituary. I do not know what newspaper it came from and would appreciate help in find a complete copy. "The funeral of the late Mrs. Dorcas LAKE, the mother of D R LAKE and Mrs. Ezra MEAD of the village, took place from her late residence in Rockland Street, on Wednesday afternoon. She was respected and loved by everyone." This funeral took place on January 31st, 1881. Although the obit does not mention them she also had two other sons. Cortland JOHNSON LAKE of Buffalo, Erie County, NY. and my great grandfather John H. Lake of Susquehanna County, PA. at the time of her funeral John was living in Binghamton, Broome County, NY. I would like to know if anyone could tell me the names of the existing newspapers at that time? Also would anyone know how I would go about finding if her house still exists? I live in Attica, Wyoming County, NY and will be making a trip to Rockland County some time in the next year. For this reason I am trying to research as much as I can before going there.
