He was a Quarter Master with the 23rd. NJ., a Justice of the peace, Post Master, Banker, and Mayor of Beverly, NJ. I found his grave at St. Stephens Episcopal Church Cemetery in Beverly, but I can not find out if he married/had children. He was born in Suequehanna County, PA. the son of Zenas and MaryAnn Howe Nichols. He had a brother Amos Nichols and a sister, my ggrandmother Lucy Nichols Lake.
