Coert and Salome VanZandt Lake are my 3Xggrandparents. I can trace Salome's family back quite a ways, but the last verified clue I have for Coert is that he was from the King's County (Gravesend/ Brooklyn) area. I am looking into the VanVoorhees line for Coert's maternal ancestry and think his paternal line seems to be connected to John Lake of Gravesend. He named his sons Daniel, Richard, Issac, and his grandsons were John H., Daniel, and Cortland .These names seem to carry on in each generation.
