Hi everyone, I'm new to the list, and delighted to find it exists. I'm trying to discover the origins of the name Chestnut Ridge, which seems to have belonged to Route 45 across the state line, in Bergen County, before it belonged to the village now so-called. Does anybody know the history of chestnut trees in the area, which ridge was the chestnut ridge, and when the expression first came into use? Many thanks, Terri
