The Orange County Genealogical Society is sponsoring a FREE SEMINAR open to the public on Saturday May 13, 2000 Seminar will be held at the Goshen United Methodist Church, Main Street, Goshen, NY (NEXT DOOR TO 1841 HISTORIC COURTHOUSE) Prior registration is not necessesary -- just show up. Seminar Registration: 9:30 AM with refreshments First Session: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Sleuthing in the Stacks: Using Non-Traditional Resources to Uncover Genealogical Clues. Second Session: 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM "To the Honorable the Board of Supervisors...": A Genealogist's Guide to Identifying and Using the Obscure and Uncommon Records of Local (City, Town and County) Governments Lunch Break: 12:30 PM to !:30 PM Sandwiches offered at $5.00 each includes salad, beverage and desserts. Those who have not reserved a lunch should do so upon arrival in the morning or you may bring a lunch. Third Session: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Going Beyond City Directories: Biographical, Professional, Occupational and College Directories as a Genealogist's Research Tool Our speaker: Meldon J. Wolfgang III has been doing his own and professional researcher since 1961. He has been featured as a speaker at several National Genealogical Society's Annual Conferences in the US and the annual FGS Conference. He has also spoken at American Society of Genealogists, the New England Historic Genealogical Society, the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, the Indiana State Historical Society, the New Jersey State Historical Society, the Palatines to America, and numerous other regional and local societies.
