Hi Judith and Patrick: I have a picture taken in front of the Jackman's Shoe Factory in Nyack in 1886. It lists some of the men in the picture. One of them is a C. DeGroat. Could this be a relation of yours? This picture was published in 1931. They wanted to know the names of the nine men in the picture that they didn't name. One of nine was my grandfather Albert Stoothoff. I hope this will help you with an occupation for a relative. Bernice
