Victoria, I have found Couch in Sullivan County,the vicinity of Thompson in the 1870 census, specifically Daniel, Stephen and Samuel(all separate households). I will look out for George. A Melvin Couch of Monticello,Sull. Co was my 3 & 2 ggrandparents solicitor. I believe there was some sort of family connection-perhaps through the Barnums or Strattons.
