    3. What used to be called the Bardonia cemetery is now the St. Anthony's Church cemetery in Nanuet, NY. I used to know a descendant of the Bardon family which as I understand had donated that land to the church. Google the name of the cemetery as you give it and you will be led to an online mention in Tompkins History of Rockland. I would think that technically the address is now Nanuet, not Bardonia. I have discovered that since the Fortune's came here in the early 1600's they have helped to Pioneer this country. They have been involved in every conflict pretty much from the beginning. My own Grandfather, who I never met,(he died in 1948), was in the Marine Corps in WWI and was drafted into the service again in WWII. He served in both wars. My Father was in the Navy in WWII. 1. [NYROCKLA] St. Mary's Cemetery Interments, Troy, NY
    2. Bill & Cathy McGrath
    3. ANNOUNCING NEW DATABASE BOOK 4 - INTERMENT INDEX ST. MARY'S CEMETERY, TROY NEW YORK INTERMENT YEARS - April 1935 - November 1952 A. Book 4, part of a multi-volume set of Interment Records at St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy, NY, which includes 5,112 names, has now been added to the Troy Irish Genealogy website. You can view these interment records by going to the Troy Irish Genealogy website at: www.rootsweb.com/~nytigs/ click on TIGS PROJECTS and then click on ST. MARY'S CEMETERY, TROY, NY - INTERMENT RECORDS. B. This new data series of interment records list an individuals name, date of death and age at death. In a large number of records, the age is reported in years, months and days. Some entries without a date of death, are re-interments to or from another cemetery. It should be noted that these records, like most of the TIGS data series, cover the general population in the area and are NOT restricted to Irish surnames. C. Researchers having relatives with a CAPITAL DISTRICT area connection, will be interested in these on-line, name searchable, records of names of individuals who were interred in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy, NY. If you live in a nearby county or even further away, you might want to check out these names. Take a look at the data base, you never know what you will find. D. The TIGS website has a PRINTABLE FORM that can be used to request more information from the Albany Diocesan Cemeteries. Mailing instructions and fees (only $5.00) are on the request form. Additional items that may be available from the full interment record may include: 1. LATE RESIDENCE: While many of the records in Book 4 show only the name of the city as the late residence, 1,348 of the records will show a house number and a Troy street address. 2. INTERMENT DATE: The date of interment in St. Mary's Cemetery may be another clue which will be helpful to genealogy and family researchers. 3. SECTION/LOT#: The section and lot number may be another clue which will be helpful to genealogy and family researchers. 4. UNDERTAKER: The name of the undertaker may be another clue which will be helpful to genealogy and family researchers. E. The following information on the 5,112 deaths will be of interest: 1. No age was reported for 208 names and 112 records were identified as "Still Born". 2. A breakdown of the other deaths by age groups shows: Under 1 year - 210 names. Age 1 to 10 - 95 names. Age 11 to 19 - 37 names. Age 20 to 29 - 114 names. Age 30 to 39 - 186 names. Age 40 to 49 - 355 names. Age 50 to 59 - 789 names. Age 60 to 69 - 1,261 names. Age 70 to 79 - 1,190 names. Age 80 to 89 - 489 names. Age 90 to 99 - 63 names. Age 100+ - 1 name. F. Nearly all of the 5,112 interment records showed some indication of residence. Those records will be of interest to researchers outside of the Troy Area as they identify residences in numerous cities and towns throughout New York State as well as 21 other states and Canada. While most of the records were for the Capital District Area, other areas throughout New York State were reported. Some specifics on residence information follow: 1. The following NYS locations had three or more records: Albany-136, Averill Park-4, Bethlehem-4, , Brunswick-31, Buffalo-3, Cohoes-42, Colonie-19, Cropsyville-3, East Greenbush-6, Glens Falls-8, Glenville-4, Grafton-3, Green Island-111, Hawthorne-3, Hoosick-4, Hudson-6, Marcy-3, Mechanicville-5, Menands-7, North Greenbush-107, Oneonta-4, Orangeburg-3, Petersburg-3, Pittstown-5, Plattsburgh-3, Poestenkill-9, Poughkeepsie-105, Rensselaer-4, Rochester-3, Rome-4, Sand Lake-14, Saratoga Springs-14, Schaghticoke-13, Schenectady-43, Syracuse-4, Troy-3,502 including 1,348 with street addresses, Utica-11, Voorheesville-5, Waterford-9, Watervliet-144 and Wynantskill-4. 2. The following NYS locations had 2 records: Cambridge, Canton, Castle Point, Center Brunswick, Chester, Claverack, Corinth, Groveland, Guilderland, Halfmoon, Ilion, Latham, Mount Pleasant, Niskayuna, North Elba, Oxford, Pleasantdale, Rotterdam and Saranac Lake. 3. The following NYS locations had 1 record: Altamont, Ballston Spa, Batavia, Bath, Beacon, Berlin, Brewster, Broadalbin, Eagle Mills, Elmira, Fort Edward, Grand island, Greenwich, Herkimer, Hoosick Falls, Hudson Falls, Kingston, Lake Placid, Loudonville, Lyons, Malta, Malvern, Melrose, Moreau, Ogdensburg, Oriskany, Penn Yan, Red Hook, Salem, Schodack, Schuylerville, St. Johnsville, Suffern, Tamarack, Valley Falls, Vienna, Webb, West Haverstraw, West Seneca and Wingdale. 4. For the New York City area, there were 97 records for Manhattan, 9 records for Brooklyn, 8 records for Queens, 1 record for the Bronx, 10 records for Westchester and 9 records for Long Island. Three records indicated "New York" so it is unclear if this meant New York State or New York City. 5. There were a number of records from the neighboring states of Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut and New Jersey. Connecticut has 8 records, Massachusetts had 12 records, Vermont had 8 and New Jersey had 22 records. 6. Residence was also indicated from the following states: Arkansas, Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. 7. The only foreign country listed was Canada. 8. The following organizations (hospitals, nursing homes, religious institutions) were indicated as the residence; Albany Hospital-6, Leonard Hospital-30, Marshall's Sanitarium-5, McCarthy Rest Home-4, Nightingale Home-7, Samaritan Hospital-24, St. Mary's Hospital-6, St. Joseph's Maternity Hospital- 3, Troy Hospital-79, Home for the Aged-6, Sisters of the Good Shepherd-10, Little Sisters of the Poor-72 and the Welfare Home-13. 9. !3 Records were burials of Servicemen killed in Europe or the Pacific during World War II. G. There are now 17,009 interment records in the four Books of St. Mary's Cemetery records now on-line on the TIGS website. Book 5 of St. Mary's interments records is now being scanned. Hopefully you will find some of your ancestors listed in these interment records or in the 200,00 Irish and Non-Irish names in the various other data series on the Troy Irish Genealogy website. 1. Re: [NYROCKLA] Maria DeClark/DeKlerk, born Dec 19, 1744
    2. Hi Barb, Yesterday, I journeyed to the David Library of the American Revolution to research Peter Lent (1739-1782). I made a copy of all of the microfilmed documents in Maria De Klerck Lent's petition to the British government for compensation for the loss of Peter Lent's property, both real and personal, in Orange Town, Orange County, Province of New York. Today I transcribed those documents. If you or any list member would like a copy of those files, please contact me off list. I also checked the Baptism Records from Tappan Dutch Reformed Church as published in the 1986 edition of the History of Rockland County, New York. I found the following: There was a Maria De Klerck, who was the wife of David Blauvelt, a member of Tappan Church with her husband on April 20, 1739 and had a number of children baptized at the Tappan Dutch Reformed Church over the years. There was a Maria De Klerck, who was born on March 7, 1742 and baptized on April 4, 1742. She was the daughter of Theunis De Klerck and Catharina Nax; David Blauvelt and Maria, his wife, were sponsors/witnesses. (Please see History of Rockland County by David Cole at Appendix page 17 Baptism # 1182.) There was a Maria De Klerck, who was born on January 10, 1744 and baptized on January 15, 1744. She was the daughter of Dirck De Klerck and Efrye Turneur. Michiel Turneur, Maria, his wife were sponsors/witnesses. (Please see History of Rockland County by David Cole at Appendix page 18 Baptism # 1279.) I am inclined to suspect that this Maria De Klerck is the Maria De Klerck who married Peter Lent (1739-1782), but I could be wrong. At page 20 of The Bogart Family in Canada, the descendants of Maria De Klerck Lent Bogart's second husband listed her birth date as December 19th, 1744. I am more inclined to accept the birth date for Maria De Klerck Lent that was given in the baptism records of the Tappan Dutch Reformed Church. By the way Maria De Klerck Lent Bogart was illiterate and signed her petition to the British government with her mark. Leslie On 01/04/13, KBHine@aol.com wrote: Question #2, do you know who Maria DeClark's parent's are? The spelling of Maria's surname in the Tappen Dutch Reformed Church baptism records is DE KLERCK, which is the spelling that I have used. The earliest character is Bridget, who in 1916 has come to the US from Ireland, and is working as a nanny for a family in New York. The stories of one of the other women is set in the 1970s, and the third in the present time. Her research for the book gave her insights into the lives of Irish female servants, often called "Bridgets." My mother went to live in Traer Iowa, with her Grandmother Sarah Jane Burns, from Roberts county South Dakota to attend school . Sarah Jane Burns died March 25, 1949 at the age of 100. 1. Re: [NYROCKLA] Maria DeClark/DeKlerk, born Dec 19, 1744
    2. Hi Barb, Sorry, I can not help you. All of the information I that I have found on Maria DE KLERCK LENT BOGART (1744-1837) came from the following sources, which do not mention her parent's names: 1. American Loyalist Claims by Peter Wilson Coldham at page 285; 2. Baptisms at Tappan and Clarkstown, which was published as an Appendix in the 1986 edition of History of Rockland County, New York by David Cole, D.D., 3. Some notes on the history of the Bogartfamily in Canada by Marshall C. Bogart, Toronto :: W. Briggs,, 1918, 84 pgs. at pages 20 and 25. (Heritage Quest On Line) You might want to check out a book that I found on Google Book Search entitled Daniel De Clark of Tappen and his descendants. I am going to go to the David Library of the American Revolution to continue my research. If I find anything on Maria, I'll let you know. Leslie On 01/04/13, KBHine@aol.com wrote: Question #2, do you know who Maria DeClark's parent's are? I was about to enter your info into the one I have, until I realized there is a difference between their birth month. It's entirely possible that my files are messed up. The spelling of Maria's surname in the Tappen Dutch Reformed Church baptism records is DE KLERCK, which is the spelling that I have used. On 01/03/13, Dolores M. The spelling of Maria's surname in the Tappen Dutch Reformed Church baptism records is DE KLERCK, which is the spelling that I have used. Pamela Redmond, author of "The Possibility of You," will discuss the genealogical experience that inspired her to write about three different women who lived in different parts of the last century. The earliest character is Bridget, who in 1916 has come to the US from Ireland, and is working as a nanny for a family in New York. The stories of one of the other women is set in the 1970s, and the third in the present time. Her research for the book gave her insights into the lives of Irish female servants, often called "Bridgets." 1. [NYROCKLA] Maria DeClark/DeKlerk, born Dec 19, 1744
    2. Question #2, do you know who Maria DeClark's parent's are? I was about to enter your info into the one I have, until I realized there is a difference between their birth month. It's entirely possible that my files are messed up. Barb In a message dated 1/3/2013 5:41:43 P.M. Central Standard Time, nyrockla-request@rootsweb.com writes: Today's Topics: 1. Maple Ave. in Ridgewood, NJ. Her research for the book gave her insights into the lives of Irish female servants, often called "Bridgets." Pamela Redmond is the author of 18 books, and a columnist for Glamour and many other magazines. Meetings are free and open to the public. As my gr-gr-grandmother is called Bridget in a US Census, and also, now in a Westchester County Deed. But on two death certificates of her children, she is named as Catherine. Unfortunately she died quite early on, and only shows up in the 1870 Census.
