Appears in Census also as Abraham w. Susan and Susanna depending on year. Airmont Lutheran Church records show Abram and Susanna as members. Children are Lawrence Henry Wanamaker b. 1851 and Amelia m. Goetschius. Am trying to determine if Abram L is the son of Lawrence Wanamaker and Hannah Pulis. I have a copy of Lawrence Wanamaker's will - proved 1859 in which Abraham L (son) is executor, but Abraham L. is also listed as part of his household in 1850 Census and Abraham and Susan are listed as a separate household in the same Census. Given mistakes in the Census, I''m trying to determine if these are the same Abraham (Abram) L Wanamaker. Can anyone help?
Sorry about this. I feel like an idiot. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, March 08, 2006 11:01 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Formosan Termites in Mulch is a hoax http://www.hoax-slayer.com/formosan-termites-mulch.html
Spread the word! This came to a member of the Garden Club of Montclair via California, and we think it's worth passing on. Let your Lawn Service know! If you use mulch around your house be very careful about buying mulch this year. After the hurricane in New Orleans many trees were blown over. These trees were then turned into mulch and the state is trying to get rid of tons and tons of this mulch to any state or company who will come and haul it away. So it will be showing up in Home Depot and Lowes at dirt cheap prices with one huge problem; Formosan Termites will be the bonus in many of those bags. New Orleans is one of the few areas in the country where the Formosan Termite has gotten a strong hold and most of the trees blown down were already badly infested with those termites. Now we may have the worst case of transporting a problem to all parts of the country that we have ever had. These termites can eat a house in no time at all and we have no good control against them, so tell your friends that own homes to avoid cheap mulch and know were it came from. Here's the link: Click here: LSU AgCenter . Formosan Subterranean Termites Portal <<http://www.agctr.lsu.edu/en/environment/insects/Termites/formosan_termites />>
I believe the funeral home you are looking for is that of John SHANKEY. It no longer exists. The Genealogical Society of Rockland County is preparing it records for publication. One member of the records committee is our President, Mike Secora. I believe that he is also a HATRWICK descendant. Judy, you may want to check on a marriage for Marie Hartwick in the 1909 - 1911 time frame. If you find one and order it, you would get the name of the husband. Depew, NY (or wherever the vital records were kept locally for that time period) may be able to look at the births chronologically and find them. Hope this helps Mike Secora -----Original Message----- From: Judith McConville [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, February 05, 2006 9:20 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [NYROCKLA] RESEARCHING MARIE HARTWICK MARRIAGE around 1910 Hello: So far I have not been able to find the parentage of several children that I thought might be MARIE HARTWICK'S children by former relationship(s) prior to marrying my grandfather, HARRY E. BENNETT, Oct 13, 1914 in Buffalo, NY. I was also going back over "stuff" and I found a letter from a sister-in-law of Harry & Marie Bennett and she referred to the children, Raymond & Violet, as children from Marie's former marriage. On Harry & Marie's Marriage Certificate, Marie is using her maiden name, Hartwick. How can I go about researching a marriage for Marie Hartwick in Rockland County? The first child was born 12/11/1911 in Depew, Erie Co, NY. I have already inquired on the Erie Co. List. I am just trying to rule out Rockland County. She was born in Haverstraw, Mar. 11, 1892 and apparently stayed there until 1910 or 1911. I would appreciate any help or direction one may have to offer. The family is listed in the 1892 state census which is now available at the Genealogical Society of Rockland County's website http://rocklandgenealogy.org/ Not a lot of information, but confirms your data.
