I also have no information about where she was born but do know that the last three children born to Enoch Rose and Susanna Green were born in Paterson NJ and their youngest daughter, Abigail Jane, was married in Paterson in 1853. And while Enoch died in Sloatsburg NY 12 May 1858, Susanna Green died 20 March 1874 in Paterson. That's all I can offer you on this particular Susanna.

NY. Your posting caught my eye because I am looking at Peter Alley's father John as possibly related to my Humphrey. Humphrey bought land in 1806 in Ontario Co. from Gerrit Vanderhoof (NJ) and was closely associated with Jacob Cole Jr and Benjamin Cole, later migrating with Benjamin Cole and his family to Washtenaw/ Lenawee Cos in Michigan around 1834. Humphrey's son John ran a hotel in MI named the Davenport hotel and later Harmon House. I have been trying to locate the parents of Humphrey and track down Lucretia (reportedly born in NY), whose maiden name is unknown. Any light you can shed on this family would be appreciated. Debbie

I don't know names of any other children besides Catherine. What I know (assume) comes from a family letter dated August 21, 1916. Wilson Geneology. It follows: "I am writing this from what I know personally and what I heard my Father and Mother say many years ago. My Father, John J. Wilson, was born in Monroe Township, Orange County, New York, April 5, 1793. And my Mother, Catherine Weymer, was born same town and county on August 25, 1800. Their parents lived three miles apart. My father's father was Scott's Irish born and lived in Belfast, Ireland till ten years old. His parents came to America and settled in Orange County, New York. There he learned Blacksmithing. He always worked at that business. He was a very staunch Methodist. A very quiet, conservative man. My mother said one of the nicest, kindest of men. My father's mother was Charity Everman. Her father was a Sadler and Harness maker and lived in Goshen, N.Y. My mother was German and French nationality. Her father came to America when 21 years old. He was born & raised in Whittenburg, Germany (the birth place of Martin Luther). His name was Jacob Weymer and he was a farmer. Her mother's name was Sarah Izerman-her father was a leather dealer-had a leather and shoe store in New York City. My mother's mother was a great niece to the DeHaven brothers who loaned the money to General Washington that has caused so much talk and contention for so many years. The DeHavens were French nationality and a wealthy people. Two of the brothers were Foundry men and one was a farmer. The two oldest men did business in Goshen, New York and Philadelphia. Three of the Weymers originally were factory and farm people. The wilsons, my fathers brothers, one was a farmer; and one was a sea captain, and was shipwrecked between New York & London; one was a clothing merchant in New York; and my father was a charcoal burner. My father's and mother's people all lived in and around New York and Goshen and Philadelphia. And there are many of them there yet. My father and mother married in Goshen, Orange County, New York, October 18, 1821, and always lived near there until they moved to Shelby County, Ohio in March 1938. They lived in Ohio ten years. On February 6, 1848, they moved to Kendall County, Illinois, where they spent the remainder of their days on the old Home farm on the Ottawa Road, two and one half miles east of Plattville. My parents had ten children when they left Orange County, New York. There were three born in Ohio and one in Kendall County, Illinois." I don't know if this helps with the Weymers. I hope it wasn't too long to post on this message board. The letter goes on to list the 14 children, birth and marriage dates. I can email those if you'd like, or post if it's ok. Donna

Do you have names of Jacob and Sarah Iserman Weymer's other children besides Catherine? From early census records they appear to have had 3-4 sons and perhaps 1 other daughter. I'd like to get what you have on Sarah's descendants--at least the 1st couple of generations so I can see if they help answer any of my Weymer questions. In return, I'm able to share quite a bit of info on the ancestry of Jacob Weymer if you're interested.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YUB.2ACI/357.447.1.1 Message Board Post: Bruce: Just wondered what evidence and documentation you may have to prove that Adolphus "b. 1699 NYC" was a son of Olvert Shuart/Sjoert/etc. and Margaret Cloppers as per Pat Wardell in 1995. I have not yet found a single shred, other than similarities in the many spellings of the surnames that attach to both individuals. It appears to me that someone along the way just pasted the name of Adolphus into the progeny of Olvert and Margaret, and the attribution has been repeated endlessly ever since. I haven't yet seen the original record, but other sources point out that Adolphus was married on or about 23 October 1719 to Margaret Geerlingh (nee' Ecker?) in New Jersey, and that the marriage record itself states that Adolphus was born in "Pruymes" in Germany, not NYC. Nevertheless, some have continued to justify the appearance of this Adolphus in the lineage of Olvert by simply claiming, without any evidence I can find, that Olvert was on a sea voyage to Germany with his wi! fe and that she gave birth to Adolphus there. So here we have Olvert's wife, who had baptized Ytie on 3 July 1698 in the NY Reformed Church, going on a difficult months-long trans-Atlantic sea voyage with her husband within months of her last pregnancy, enduring yet another 9 months or less of another pregnancy to give birth to Adolphus in Germany the following year, becoming pregnant again just in time to have Johannis born and then baptized in NYC on 6 April 1701. Seems far-fetched to me, especially when we see the regular pattern of the baptisms of all of Olvert's other children before and after Adolphus in the NYCRefCh records separated by intervals of about 3 years or more. Also, Olvert Shuart left a will in NYC in 1710, but does not mention son named Adophus among his heirs, nor have I ever seen Adolphus mentioned among any of the NYC records or any records associated with Olvert and Margaret. Unless someone can provide solid evidence to the contrary, I think we ! need to separate Adophus from the lineage of Olvert and Margaret, and work with the only evidence we have, i.e. that Adolphus was a separate immigrant deriving from a family living in or near Germany. I do agree that the Dutch name of Olvert Sjourt/Syourt/etc. became known as "Shuart" among some of his descendants and that these descendants can be traced to Olvert, but the Shuart's deriving from Adolphus Shurte/Shuart/etc. must be considered as a separate lineage for now. - Rich
