    3. There is presently an exhibit at the Historical Society of Rockland called "Rockland's Catholic Heritage", and a Journal Newspaper article about it can be read at http://www.thejournalnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2007703090407 You are correct that the probable church the McQuaids would have been associated with is St. Peter's in Haverstraw, and the Genealogical Society has information on its history at http://rocklandgenealogy.org/rcchurches.htm Records of marriages and births at the town/village level were not kept before 1881, and compliance was iffy for quite a few years. The church would be your best bet, and when asking for information, a donation is never amiss. Author: langberg Surnames: Conklin, Fuller Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.rockland/3380/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Daniel Conklin was born Apr 1852, and Harriet Cornelia Fuller in May 1854, both in NY. They married in 1877 and lived in Haverstraw in 1880, and in Ramapo in 1900. They had 3 sons, George, Fred, & Ervin, and 2 daughters, Charlotte (my grandmother) and Genevra. Harriet died in 1927, Daniel in 1935, and both are buried in Brick Church Cem. Daniel may be the 8-year old son of Nicholas & Eliza Conklin (Ramapo, 1860), and Harriet may be the Cornelia listed as the daughter of Edwin & Jane Fuller (Union Dale, Dutchess, 1860), but I have no solid info in either case.
