During my recent visit to the Albany/Troy area of NYS, I was able to take over 500 pictures of tombstones in St Joseph's Cemetery in Troy. It is the beginning of an ongoing project to eventually, photograph the complete cemetery and other cemeteries in the area. I have indexed all the names and so far there are over 200 surnames. Since it is a Catholic cemetery and located in South Troy where many Irish emigrants settled, most of the surnames are Irish and many mention the county and/or parish in Ireland where the emigrant was born. Yesterday, I started to get the pictures on line, on the Troy section of my website, under Cemetery Inscriptions. In all, there are over 15 pages of pictures to upload and I hope to get them all up by the end of this week. If you live in the area and would like to help me with this project, write me off list. I had hoped to get the whole cemetery done but the weather didn't cooperate with my schedule. I am going back in May and will continue until I get the whole cemetery on line. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com
